North by Northeast returns this June - in the same fashion as the last, with four unique lands to explore. This year, NXNE promises to bring out more food trucks, midway rides, carnival games - all on top of a stacked 3-day lineup at the Port Lands Music Festival. Weekend passes start at just $125. Here's a daily breakdown of our 2017 must-sees!

WhoSleigh Bells (Brooklyn, NY)
What: Noise Pop
Where: Skyline Stage @ 7:50PM
Why: If you're looking for a party, this is it! This noise pop duo know how to get a crowd moving with their rock-infused electro-pop music and have been doing so since the release of their first hit single "Tell Em" in 2010.

WhoCold Specks (Toronto, ON) 🍁
What: Soul/Rock
Where: Canal Stage @ 6:20PM
Why: Born Ladan Hussein - and formerly known as Al Spx, one thing that hasn't changed about Cold Specks since her debut is her uniquely dark blend of soul and rock. If her live show is anything like her music videos, expect a captivating, artistic experience!





DAY 2: SATURDAY JUNE 24, 2017 

WhoKAYTRANADA (Montreal, QC) 🍁
What: Electronic/Hip Hop
Where: Skyline Stage @ 9:30PM
Why: This Haitian-Canadian DJ/Producer found himself in the spotlight most recently, winning Electronic Album of the Year for his debut %99.9 at the Junos. At only 24 years old, he already has a huge production discography and number of impressive awards under his belt. Don't pass up the opportunity to check out this set.

WhoMUNA (Los Angeles, CA)
What: Dark Pop
Where: Canal Stage @ 6:30PM
Why: First unsure of being classified as a "queer girl band", MUNA now use this status to inspire fans to be themselves and write many songs on the topics of sexuality and gender. It's only up from here for these girls, from their recent debut album release to an upcoming tour with Harry Styles to a Late Night appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Catch them while you can!



DAY 3: SUNDAY JUNE 25, 2017

WhoThe Soul Rebels (New Orleans, LA)
What: Funk/Soul
Where: Skyline Stage @ 7:30PM
Why: This 8-piece brass ensemble continues to merge their big band sound with modern music. They will be performing at Port Lands with notable hip-hop artist Talib Kweli and have, in the past, collaborated with a wide variety of artists from Metallica to Macklemore. This is sure to be a good time for any music fan.

Who: Yukon Blonde (Vancouver, BC) 🍁
What: Indie Rock
Where: Canal Stage @ 6:30PM
Why: This Canadian Indie Rock band's sound is simple yet infectious - a pure composition of guitars and vocals with some synth. You may have heard this BC band's catchy track "Saturday Night" on the radio. For a great end to the festival weekend, spend a "(Sun)day night on the town" with Yukon Blonde.
