Critically acclaimed German born and Canada-based pop iconoclast bülow releases brand new single “Two Punks In Love” today via Republic Records/Wax Records/Universal Music Canada.
The powerful lyrics of “Two Punks In Love” capture young love growing stronger with age, through pain and beauty. bülow sings: “we were kids it’s been a while / but you still work to make me smile / a stolen kiss, now i can’t wait to waste my life away with you.”
Of “Two Punks In Love”, bülow comments, “With ‘Two Punks In Love’ it feels like I’ve gone full circle. It’s a homey feeling. I was creating this kind of music at the very beginning, when it was just me, my guitar, in my bedroom. A lot has changed since then, I’ve gone through shit, my sound has evolved, but that doesn’t mean I won’t come back to my roots every now and then.”
In the past year, bülow has released Damaged Vol. 1 & Damaged Vol. 2, each instantly resonated with critics and new fans alike. Damaged Vol. 1 included “Like This Guy”, “Lines”, and fan favourite “Not A Love Song” which to date has clocked over 30 million streams and earned praise as “beautifully crafted” (NME), “pop genius” (Noisey), and a "star in the making” (Pigeon & Planes). Damaged Vol. 2 included “You & Jennifer,” “Honor Roll,” and buzzworthy “SAD AND BORED,” praised by PAPER as, “the perfect pop study in contrasts, and further confirms bülow as an artist to watch with razor-sharp wit to boot.” As well as HillyDilly calling her “one of the brightest new talents in pop.” In addition to releasing critically acclaimed music this year bülow also made her worldwide broadcast debut at the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAS with a knockout performance of “Not A Love Song” and won the audience over at the Reading Festival in the UK. A child of the globe, bülow has grown up in five countries including Canada, Germany, the UK, the US, and just recently finished high-school in The Netherlands. Although bülow has only just begun her musical journey with these recent releases, the music already stands tall as an impressive flag-bearer for things to come.
