FEATURETTE'S NEW SINGLE + VIDEO 'MILLION THINGS' IS A SNAPSHOT OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA DRIVEN WORLD

Toronto-based duo FEATURETTE was formed by singer Lexie Jay and drummer, Jon Fedorsen. Like their synth-heavy dream pop contemporaries Phantogram and Tove Lo, FEATURETTE is influenced by the emotionally charged, heavy hitting electro-pop sounds coming from Northern Europe and New Zealand.

After receiving a full recording grant from FACTOR Canada, FEATURETTE released their full-length consolidated debut LP, CRAVE in late fall of 2016, which was met with accolades across North America.

FEATURETTE's single "Broken" has been featured on 102.1 The Edge in Alan Cross' 5 Songs You Must Hear This Week and their track, "Give a Little" enjoyed full rotation on INDIE 88 into 2017 as well as multiple TV syncs.

The two are back with the highly anticipated, “Million Things” off their upcoming sophomore album that they say will tell their biggest and loudest story yet. They have spent the past several months in the studio, writing, recording and anticipating the LP - scheduled for release in late 2019.

The band detail the meaning behind their latest single:

"We live tethered to our Instagram feeds, and we care more about what we look like on the outside than how we’re doing on the inside. “Million Things” is about having everything you’ve ever dreamed of, but the loneliness we’re left with if we don’t have anyone to share in the moments that matter. With “Million Things”, we’re trying to capture a snapshot of the social media driven world we live in, and how it affects our relationships and even mental health. Everyone’s trying to be insta-famous. Everyone’s got to look their best at all times and ‘play the part’ so that they’re not forgotten. We’ve got to be one step ahead, more likes, more followers - it’s endless. It can be draining to create a world where we’re always presenting our ‘best self’. This song is about facing the vulnerability in all that and asking ourselves, how did we get here, and what was the price we had to pay along the way."
