With a fresh yet nostalgic perspective on alternative pop, Montreal’s Caveboy root themselves in the timeless music of their parent’s generation and build to unforgettable chaos during their live performances. The all-womxn trio’s first few years were driven by electrifying performances at SXSW, Osheaga, Pride Toronto, Halifax Pop Explosion, the Pre-Grammy Celebration of Canadian Excellence, 2018 Juno Gala Awards and support performances for Japanese Breakfast, Tash Sultana, Tom Walker, Ria Mae, Cub Sport, and Wintersleep.

The queer collective are wrapping up 2019 on a high note, returning home from their first-ever visit to Halifax Pop Explosion with Executive Director, James Boyle saying; "Caveboy was the discovery of the weekend at the festival."

The band shares their brand new single, "Silk for Gold", with an accompanying lyric video - directed and created by Brittpaperscissors, with the video premiering exclusively on Billboard.

The band states:

"Silk for Gold is the feeling you get in the moment you realize you’re finally okay; after feeling exhausted and destroyed, after being broken down in ways you didn’t think possible, this song is the relief and liberation from that pain and trauma. To wake up one morning and feel happiness again. Teaming up with Brittany Farhat of Brittpaperscissors was a dream, and she truly created the lyric video that Caveboy had envisioned."

Farhat commented:

"For the Silk for Gold lyric video, the band and I collaborated to create a visual concept that depicts feelings of fierceness, of casting off inhibitions. We wanted to show those feelings using mixed media - with a static camera angle framing a vintage mirror reflecting slow-motion imagery of hands to convey the powerful emotions in the song. We used projections to animate the sequence in the mirror, with the aesthetic of vintage, ornate gold objects and textures as a metaphor for spiritual rather than material wealth."

Their highly anticipated debut album titled Night in the Park, Kiss in the Dark is due out January 31, 2020 and will also feature their heavily playlisted first single “Landslide.”
