Navigate The Sky (Brendan DiStefano, Shane Penhale, Josh Podolak) ask “Is It Just Me?” in their latest single and lyric video release.
The Toronto-based indie-pop trio have released a true track for the times – centered around the themes of personal goals and perseverance.
Member Brendan Distefano comments:
"[‘Is It Just Me?’] is about chasing your dreams, despite rejection, self-doubt, and the worst odds. We felt that now was a good time to continue the conversation.”
Navigate the Sky recorded their debut EP, Small Talk back in the spring of 2018 – an upbeat record with 808 drum machines, vintage synthesizers, and dreamy delay guitar samples.
Over the past couple years, the band has garnered over 950,000 streams worldwide and shared stages with Tokyo Police Club, Virginia to Vegas, Honors, Tyler Shaw and Neon Dreams. Constant collaboration and introspective groundwork lead the trio down a new path to begin self-production on their 2020 debut single "Something Different."
The group’s second single “Is It Just Me?” follows with an accompanying animated lyric video. The modern-day anthem was manifested earlier this year and was impressively self-written, self-produced and mixed by Gabe Galluci (Shawn Mendes, Victoria Duffield). Written at Spotify’s Secret Genius studio in February with fellow Torontonian, BRDGS, Navigate the Sky had no idea how much their words would resonate just months later in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Penned with honest storytelling, "Is It Just Me?" is a tantalizing sample of what’s to come – demonstrating Navigate The Sky’s raw artistry that intertwines with catchy melodies.
