Toronto native, soul/R+B singer and producer Charlotte Day Wilson announces her highly-anticipated debut album Alpha, slated for release via Stone Woman Music. The rhythmic single, “If I Could” and the album announcement are accompanied by a video showcasing a female rodeos, changing faces and identities and alludes to the story Alpha will tell. Charlotte is credited as co-director of the compelling video and award winning director Kevan Funk commencing the Alpha era.

Charlotte on the new single:

“‘If I Could’ was written by my good friend and incredible songwriter Merna Bishouty, and produced by myself and Jack Rochon. I felt a deep and immediate connection to Merna’s perspective on the desire to protect and save someone from their demons, and I was honored to collaborate with her on the song. Co-director Kevan Funk and I are also super grateful for my dear friend Mustafa and the bull riders from Texas who helped us to tell our story.”

Charlotte has made waves in the industry through her impressive instrumental repertoire of guitar, bass, drum pad, and piano talent, producing her own music as well as contributing to other projects. Beyond that, her authoritative and soulful voice and craft for songwriting has kept fans waiting for long-awaited studio full length. Alpha is an eleven-song journey of metaphor and earnest declarations, recollecting Charlotte’s inner struggles of love, growing, and breaking that she’s finally speaking to in a greater way. Alpha features the widely praised single “Take Care of You” ft. Syd as well as a song partnering with Toronto’s jazz-funk trio BADBADNOTGOOD.
